Maloneys Grocer is a family-owned business centred on a philosophy that ‘Life is too short to eat poor-quality food’. Our aim is to provide the best-quality products to our customers in a friendly and welcoming environment.
Richard Maloney, his wife Joanna Matthews, and brother in law Sebastian Matthews are longtime Coogee locals who recognised the great need for a quality produce and fine food store in the neighbourhood. They opened the first Maloneys branch on Coogee Bay Road in September 2006, and expanded the store to double the size in 2011. Responding to demand in the Surry Hills area, a further location was opened on Crown Street in 2009.
We believe the secret of our success is the quality of our products teamed with strong customer service. We love to listen to the needs of our customers and this continues to define our stores. Our range has grown immensely since we started business and we will continue to respond to our customers’ feedback and suggestions. We will not comprise on quality and aim to provide only the seasons best fruit and vegetables along with an exciting range of fine food products.
Being a family-orientated business, our aim from the beginning has always been to provide a relaxed and warm atmosphere in the store. We pride ourselves in knowing many of our regular customers and locals by name and wherever possible we contribute to the local community and schools with various fundraisers, donations and events.
